Raised in foster care after her mother died, she had a rough start in life but her faith in God and determination to make it gave her the drive to do whatever it took to be a successful attorney and her hard work has paid off. Growing up during the civil rights movement motivated her to pursue her passion to fight for equality and civil rights for the oppressed.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Attorney Newman gained valuable experience, including working as an Administrative and Legal Secretary, District Manager for an international retail chain, Human Resources Professional and Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army.

Attorney Newman attended college classes at night while working full-time, raising her children as a single mother and serving in the military.
