Attorney Newman has a successful and proven track record of success despite her humble beginning. Raised in foster care after her mother died, she had a rough start in life but her faith in God and determination to make it gave her the drive to do whatever it took to be a successful attorney and her hard work has paid off. Growing up during the civil rights movement motivated her to pursue her passion to fight for equality and civil rights for the oppressed.
She has a wide variety of hands-on work experience. Prior to beginning her legal career, Attorney Newman gained valuable experience, including working as an Administrative and Legal Secretary, District Manager for an international retail chain, Human Resources Professional and Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army.
Attorney Newman has worked in civil service, private practice, is a Certified Federal EEO investigator, and Certified Supreme Court Circuit Civil Mediator.
Attorney Newman attended college classes at night while working full-time, raising her children as a single mother and serving in the military. She successfully completed six college degrees, including an MBA Degree specializing in Human Resources and was recognized for graduating with Top Honors. She is also a Senior Legal Editor for Thompson Reuters and edits the publication's Employment Law Practical Law Articles.

Employees who work for public agencies are entitled to due process rights before their employer can terminate or discipline them, such as notice and the right to protest proposed disciplinary action.
Employees who work for federal agencies must file their informal EEO complaint within 45 days of the discriminatory act with their EEO Counselor and must file their formal complaint within 15 days from the date they receive their Acceptance Letter from the EEO Office.
Missing these short deadlines can result in their EEO complaint being dismissed and they could lose their right to file.a lawsuit.
