Super Lawyers Rising Stars
Annette Newman was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Florida SuperLawyers for four consecutive years, (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020).
The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. All attorneys first go through the Super Lawyers selection process. Those who are not selected to the Super Lawyers list, but who meet either one of the Rising Stars eligibility requirements, go through the Rising Stars selection process.
While up to five percent of the lawyers in the state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
National Black Lawyers Top 100
Attorney Newman was listed as a Top 100 Attorney by the National Black Lawyers Top 100 in 2016 and 2017
Annette was awarded multiple awards while serving in the military, including the Army Accommodation Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster); Army Achievement Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster) and the Good Conduct Medal, as well as multiple Certificates of Achievement while serving in the U.S. Army. She graduated with highest honors from WBU, received recognition by Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities and was listed in the National Deans List.
She contributed to Essence Magazine's article regarding Sexual Harassment in May 2018 and has worked as a senior legal editor (Independent Contractor) for Thompson Reuters' Practical Law employment law publication.
